Worry Less, Pray More!

Hey, everyone,

I didn’t know what to write for a blog topic this week, which is why it’s taken me several days longer to actually write this. So I apologize for that, haha.

Today I want to discuss something that is very much a part of my life, but I wish it wasn’t. Worry. You know why suicides occur in the world? You know why anxiety feels sometimes uncontrollable? You know why anger management happens so often in the workplace?

Well, it’s because of stress. Stress and anxiety aren’t positive topics for a reason. They feel like they attack and control you just by saying them out loud! Let me tell you how unhappy God feels when His creation is worried over something in which you have no control. Fearful? Be courageous; do something spontaneous. I deal with anxiety on a daily basis, but instead of listening to music, eating a million pieces of chocolate in a single day, or sulking in front of the television, use one of my suggestions.

I start my day this way: I wake up to my alarm. Fix my cats breakfast, because if I don’t they’ll break down the door and thus wake up my sleeping husband, LOL. I then walk like a zombie back to the bathroom to get ready. After getting ready, I tiptoe out of the bedroom to fix myself some breakfast, catch up on some housecleaning, read the Bible, watch Youtube videos, and catch up on my daily Garfield comic. I get my breakfast, consisting of coffee and also cereal or oatmeal, and sat at the couch and take care of that with my cat Lefty on my lap. I leave for work in my car listening to my favorite oldies radio station’s headline news. Then, I shut off my radio as soon as music starts playing.

Obviously not because I love music – I LOVE music!

But because it is a distraction to something far more important: giving all my concerns for the day to God. I pray hard and fervently while I drive, and then do the same at the end of the day.

Prayer lessens worry, everyone. I can’t promise praying will make your worries go completely away forever. I can’t promise life will always be sunshine and flowers. But if you give your life to God and pray to him constantly, remembering him as soon as a grievance turns up throughout the day, then you will be happier in the long run. Praying gives you comfort and strength for whatever lies ahead. Praying is the solid hope we must have and do have in the Lord to keep on going and that wherever God leads us, the destination will be just as amazing as his Bible promises.

Hope everyone has a safe, fun, and happy weekend!

Hint #3: A Career with a Hope

June 22, 2015

Hello, everyone,

There is a popular Bible verse that says:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11. The word “future” is in bold for a reason!

Remember, everyone, when I had my previous two hints?! Remember those things I said? Well, connect them with this hint, everyone. 🙂 Then what do you get?

What do you all guess is the answer to all 3 of these marvelous hints? I’d love to hear all of your guesses!

So, moving on to explain this hint further: God always has amazing plans for each and every one of our lives, whether you believe that or not! 🙂 He always knows what is best for us. Recently, I was offered a golden opportunity that I could not pass up. It was something that had to do with my college degree and my writing, something amazing. Something I’ve done nothing but dream of my entire life! And now something wonderful is coming true in my life.

God is so amazing. He always takes care of us and always provides for us and our every need. He provides us in ways you never expect, in mysterious ways, but also in perfect timing. So many wonderful things have been provided unto me this past month. Next Monday is my birthday, making me 27 years old. I can proudly thank God for another beautiful year of hard-earned lessons, wonderful adventures, and a bright future.

Because nothing is impossible with God! 🙂

Soooooo, what do you all think the answer is????? Let me hear your best guesses!! Can’t wait to hear them. 🙂

Enjoy your week 🙂

Never Forget the Person God Made You!

May 5, 2015

Folks,

Important life lessons I’ve been learning and struggling through in the past few weeks. Hopefully none of you have gotten tired of these inspirational-based blog posts lately. 🙂 Before I begin, though, I’d like to thank all of you for your immense support and encouragement with me and my little life lately. Yesterday, my Twitter page reached 600 FOLLOWERS!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 Wow!!!!!!!! 😀 I feel sooooooooo incredibly blessed and honored that all of you out there would actually take the time, effort, and enjoyment out of everything I have to say in my life, whether it comes to simple advice or writing about writing, cats, knitting, recipes, etc. 🙂 You guys are the best!!! I have the greatest fans in the entire world!!! No words don’t even need saying from any of you. But when I see more and more people following me and see my website stats go farther and farther upward, I feel honored and really touched to share my entire story with the world. So THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Okay. So anyway, I’ve been learning lots of new life lessons lately. Every day is a blessing from God, and in the past few weeks, daily I’ve spent reading Bible plans. There are Bible reading plans on my iPhone’s Bible app about anything, really, but I’ve really been going through Bible plans about worry, doubting, anxiety, anger, among others. So if you can’t tell already, despite how encouraging it is to write inspirational blog posts, I’m still struggling with worry, anxiety, and anger. It is a constant struggle, but through every trial I’ve gone through in my whole life, I have found myself successful and willing to overcome every trial. This trial that I am currently enduring has been a struggle, and possibly the longest trial I’ve ever gone through. But so far in this trial, I have discovered many benefits and blessings through it all. I have grown closer to God, learning to rely on Him more than I ever thought possible, and in the process, it has beneficial for gradually, day by day, letting go of worry and stress. This struggle has always brought my husband and I closer in our marriage as we learn to take comfort, encouragement, and support from one another, working through our little struggles as a team like every married couple should. I draw encouragement and comfort from even our cats, and also from friends and family. We have received immense prayers, support, and love through it all, and I am deeply grateful to the ends of the earth for that.

Another thing that this struggle has brought me to realize is to, as the title of this blog post states, never forget or give up on the person that God made me to be. The same advice could be given to anyone else who deals with a trial or hard circumstance in their lives. First and foremost, you don’t lose hope or faith in God, no matter how difficult it gets. Then, you learn to rely and trust your spouse more than anything and more than ever before. Finally, when left alone during the day to bear the day’s troubles, aside from the comfort you receive from God and His Word, you remember to not forget the person God made you to be. God gave you incredible strengths and blessings in life. He designed you perfectly the way He destined you to be. He has taken you out of, and will continue to do so, difficult situations to free you from burdens that are not healthy for you in any way, shape, or form. He has daily reminded me and also constantly of how special I am to Him. He knows what is best for me, and He will never fail me. The unique person he has made me to be, I shall not ever forget the person God wants me to be: strong, capable, independent, patient, controlled, happy, and positive. All these things also bring me comfort as I struggle to gradually come out of the dark tunnel of uncertainty. I see the light at the end of the tunnel, however! There is immense hope.

I refuse, absolutely refuse, to give up hope. Giving up is letting Satan win! Remember that. And remember that all good things are possible with our Heavenly Father 🙂

Love to you all! Have an enjoyable week 🙂 God willing, I should have wonderful news to provide to you by my next blog post next week.

Once Upon a Courageous Turning Point

Once upon a time, there lived a small, lonely little girl who thought the world of home, but was terrified to go to school every day. She wanted to make a difference, but she was far too shy to do so. Teachers misunderstood her shyness as a disability and confirmed that it must be a learning disability. Every day she went to this school, being emotionally, verbally, and even sometimes physically abused by special education teachers. It took her until age 24 to completely forgive them for hurting, harming, and betraying her.

Folks, I was that little girl.

Now, I use my past to define me, not confine me. Some people come into your life, wanting to use you to their utmost desires. Those people are not good for you, though. Do not let them break you. Personally, I struggled for years in fighting hard against their opinions of me. It actually wasn’t until I met my  husband that I was gradually able to move past all that hurt and betrayal that everyone had ever taunted against me in my entire life, and that’s a lot of people!

I’ve had struggles lately and am dealing with a struggle now. But I’m not letting it confine me! I’m letting it define me by leading me to be a better person, better human being, better Christian, better wife, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, and friend. These same teachers told me that I would never be a writer, that I would never succeed in a lot of things in life because of some disability they thought I had. I guarantee you, I never had such a thing. I’m not perfect, by any means, nobody is, but we all make mistakes. We all try our hardest to make things right and when it still doesn’t turn out right, we feel like we get shamed, dishonored, ridiculed, betrayed, and forsaken by it and perhaps even by God.

But God will never abandon us! This struggle that I’m currently dealing with seems never-ending. There sometimes seems like there is no way out, no escape to brighter and better tomorrows. But all I need to do is pray to God, read the Word (Bible), and talk to some of my closest people in my life: my husband, parents, sisters, in-laws, and friends. I know that I have done nothing wrong and I know that I am working my hardest. I know that my dreams will come true, with every fiber in my being, and that God will open up beautiful opportunities to me in His own good timing. Right now it seems hard and a constant struggle……

But one day soon it WILL end! And I’ll be a better and happier person, and a better, happier, and more beautiful-feeling person that I ever thought I ever would be EVER!!!!!!! Those who have hurt me I will forgive and turn my back upon the past forever. There will be a much, much better and happier life for this situation soon. I just need to not give up! I must have complete confidence on God first and foremost, then myself, and also be encouraged. I have a huge support system behind me, which also includes all of YOU!!!!!!!!! I am so, so grateful for that. I have a wonderful, beautiful life and am such a person waiting for that wonderful, beautiful opportunity. I know I can handle anything that comes my way! Those who have lost confidence in me are now in the past and no longer matter. But those who are my constant encouragement, love, and support, I will cling to.

God had made each and every one of us a wonderful human being! Are you going through a struggle too? Believe that today! God will make a way when there seems to be no way.  God will never abandon us, and He is smiling up in heaven right now, because that wonderful gift of burden-lifting bliss is soon on its awesome way! 🙂

Enjoy your life, everyone, no matter what happens inside it. Hold tight to those blessings in your life that truly matter most of all. Have a wonderful life, hold your head up high, and don’t give up! 🙂 You can overcome your once – once upon a time – past if I can 🙂

Have a good week 🙂

The Joy of Writing

Hello everyone,

Has the good Lord ever made you wait for anything? Well, folks, I’m waiting right now, for a couple things, and let me tell ya, it’s tough!! 🙂 But I know that in the end, it’ll be so incredibly worth it 🙂

What have you had to wait for in your life?

Imagine sitting in jail, feeling like you’re rotting there, while waiting to get let out from that dark, grimy cell, behind black, steel bars that are keeping you there until the government thinks you’ve learned your lesson. This was such a case for Benjamin “Ben” Martin.

I know, I’ve now finished writing about the history of all the books I’ve ever written since I first began writing in my life (see category History of My Books above). But this book is special. In the past couple weeks, I’ve been thinking to myself about the writer’s block I currently have with the book idea I have listed under my “Current Project” page (see above for further details), “Crimson”. But I’ve also had a good idea that if I’m going to speed up my writing and publishing process once my husband and I have children and it gets loads busier one day eventually, I’ll have to get a head start now.

So while I’m waiting for my current writer’s block of my book “Crimson” to flourish away, I’m currently in deep revision of my first book I’ve ever written that was once called, “Life with Guardian Angels.” But now it’s called “Childhood Secrets”. And it is going really well!

So anyway, Ben Martin has been in jail for four years, now being let out. As a reader, you don’t know what he went in for or why he committed the crime. All you know is that he is now a free man, being led out of the jail gates toward a gray SUV where his friends, Cassie Dawson and Mike Bain, excitedly await! His friends are so happy to see him. They haven’t seen him in four years, but beyond that, they have been the only ones keeping in touch with him. Now Ben is a pretty decent guy, apart from the fact that he was once in jail. He comes from a good family; he’s a farm boy, too, and now things are about to get exciting.

Meanwhile, Jess Olsen Beckham had lost her husband to a terrible car accident two years before. She has spent the last two years in mourning for him, trying to move on in a life where her husband, Don, no longer exists. Now how sad is that. Writing the scenes of Jess losing her husband, it really made my heart heavy, just thinking about the complete and terrible loss and pain you would have from losing a spouse so unexpectedly like that. Jess has moved her and her dog, Frank, to a different place and is gradually starting to build a brand new life for herself, little by little.

Ironically, Jess is best friends with Cassie Dawson, and they have been best friends since seventh grade. She’s also friends with Mike. So when Jess steps foot inside her and her friends’ favorite taco joint, she is shocked to see Ben there with them, for of course Cassie never said anything, the matchmaker! All we know about this situation thus far is that Jess and Ben were once high school sweethearts, aren’t very good friends now, and didn’t talk at all during Ben’s jail sentence except for when Jess testified for him during his court trial.

Has this story grabbed you by the throat yet? 😉

So continuing on, as I conclude, this book will be an inspirational-based, romance suspense. It’s suspenseful, because in order to understand all the major facts of the story, we must peer into each and every character’s life, including the deep, dark secrets of Jess’s deceased twin sister, Lizzie’s past, to piece everything completely together.

That is all I will share about the book for now! 🙂 I’ll of course keep you posted gradually about it as time goes on.

Let me share one last thing for you. It is a gloomy day here in North Dakota where we live. It’s very rainy. There’d be nothing better I’d love to do than ——- no, not write ——– read fan mail! I know I am not a published author yet, but almost, so with that said, if you all have any questions, comments, or suggestions about writing, fun characters you like whether it be mine or another author’s, my blog, my life, your life, your passions and about you, or anything in general, really, please drop me a message to my email: books_jmg@yahoo.com sometime! Oh, and please also visit my “About Me” page for more information on how to follow me on social media and subscribe to my monthly newsletter! 🙂

All for now and wishing you all a blessed week,

JMK~ 🙂

Take Courage!

Hello everyone,

This week was a struggle with figuring out what to write a blog post about. My dear friends, I’m still waiting for good news. I’m really having a rough time lately with an issue in my personal life. My husband has been my greatest support, encouragement, and God has been my greatest inspiration. But for some reason I’m still afraid. I’m doing heavy job searching, and no luck yet, and it’s getting extremely frustrating. There have been times this week where I’ve been so tempted to give up hope. Sadly, this burden also leaves me with no time for writing.

Have you ever had those days where you’re tempted to give up hope? Where it’s a struggle to move on? If you have issues completely trusting in God?

Our God will never abandon us. I keep reminding myself of that daily. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching and realized that I’ve done nothing wrong. I’ve tried my very hardest and that’s all that truly matters in the end.

A lot of times in life we are faced with intense challenges that are intended to define us, to make us stronger. Jesus promised us in Matthew to take courage! For he has overcome the world. He knows what’s best for us. God will never forsake us.

Often times when I feel my faith weakening, I am reminded of the Israelites in their forty years in the wilderness. Over and over again, they doubt God. But over and over again, God shows them how he will richly provide for them, and proves it beautifully.

So whether you’re just agreeing with me, need a reminder, or maybe I just need a reminder, remember, take courage! Everything will be okay. Because God is in control. He provides for us, and he will make everything good again. We’re just learning patience while we wait 🙂

Have a good week!

JMK 🙂
